Olivia Nelsen

 

Olivia Nelsen is from Washington State. Her love of dance began at the age of 3.  For the next 15 years, Olivia studied ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and modern at Irene’s School of Dance, under the instruction of Irene Miller, and Chela Grey.  In 2003, Olivia performed a support cast role with the New York Ballet Theatre.  From 2003 - 2012, Olivia was chosen to be a member of the performing company, Dance Arts Theatre, where she performed lead roles in The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, The Wizard of Oz, and Peter and the Wolf.  At age 15, Olivia furthered her ballet training with former Pacific Northwest Ballet and Joffrey Ballet Principle, Deborah Hadley, and Pacific Nothwest Ballet staff trainer, Carol Elsner.  After receiving several scholarship awards, Olivia attended summer dance intensives with Cornish College of the Arts, The Evergreen City Ballet, and Ballet Magnificat!  In 2012, Olivia was accepted into the Ballet Magnificat! Trainee Program, where she had the opportunity to perform in Honduras.  In the fall of 2013, she was promoted to Apprentice with the Ballet Magnificat! Omega Company.
